Greek Painters
Artemis Mouratidou was born in the city of Drama, Greece. She started her training as a painter with drawing lessons under Tasos Rigas, and continued in the Athens School of Fine Arts, at Chronis Botsoglou studio. Artemis furthered her studies at the Νew York Academy of Art where she met M.M. Erlebacher who taught anatomy and advanced oil painting techniques. Erlebacher has been pivotal in the development of Artemis' painting and introduced her to important texts, in particular, to the work of the great teacher Rudolf Arnheim. As an artist, Artemis' preferred medium is oil painting on glass-fibre canvas. Her studio is located in Thessaloniki, Greece.
